RADICAL CARE
In a surreal laboratory, research findings, artistic positions, and a comprehensive discourse program converge around the themes of motherhood, activist care, and community. Through a mix of lectures, performances, film screenings, and artistic interventions, 'RADICAL CARE' explores the necessity of a global paradigm shift in how we relate to one another. Together with invited experts and artists, it investigates the potential of maternal practices as radical acts of caring.
'RADICAL CARE' is the result and intermediate state of an almost year-long dialogue between the two art producers Stephanie Winter and Nora Mayr, in which they understand motherhood as a political strategy and imagine a world in which people increasingly act as mothers* in the sense of an activist understanding of caring and not - as exemplified for centuries by the Western world - as conquerors and exploiters. Theoretical starting points are philosophies of ecofeminism, which link ecological issues with feminist analyses.
